SICILY. Akragas. Circa 400-380 BC. Hemilitron (Bronze, 26 mm, 17.92 g, 1 h). [AKPAΓ]AΣ Horned head of young river god Akragas to left, wearing taenia. Rev. Eagle standing left on Ionic column, head turned back to right; to left, crab; to right, six pellets (mark of value). CNS I, 89. HGC 2, 139. SNG ANS 1097-1101. SNG Copenhagen 93. SNG München 156-61. An attractive example with a lovely brown patina. The obverse struck from a slightly worn die and with light adjustment marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
